Schedule to open in 2014, the house museum honors Dr. Lillie Carroll Jackson, one of Baltimore’s prominent civil rights activists. Along with Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and others, she is credited with helping implement the non-violent tactics used during the Civil Rights Movement. She was known throughout the country as the “Mother of Freedom” and “Mother of a Movement. The museum will feature films and interactive exhibits to share the story of this remarkable woman.
