Content about "History Through Art" Youth Exhibit Honors Black History Month
In honor of Black History Month, the Baltimore National Heritage Area worked with partners Visit Baltimore and the Visit Baltimore Foundation on an art exhibit featuring 32 works by students from eight Baltimore City schools. Participating schools include Angela Y. Davis Leadership Academy, ConneXions Academy, Augusta Fall High, Poly High, Western High, George Washington Elementary/Middle, Gwynn Falls Elementary and Highlandtown Elementary/Middle. The exhibit “History Through Art” will be on display through the end of February.
On Friday, February 8, the exhibit opened with a reception featuring performances by the Dunbar Jazz Ensemble and ConneXions Fine Arts (Brandon Booth Choir and Papa Dame African Drumming). Catering was provided by culinary students at the National Academy Foundation.
