Press Release - MHAA to Invest More Than $900K in the Baltimore National Heritage Area
July 12, 2021
Baltimore, MD - The Baltimore National Heritage Area (BNHA) is proud to announce that the Maryland Heritage Areas Authority (MHAA) has funded 14 Baltimore Heritage Area projects for a total of $944,296 in 2021. Each year, the Maryland Heritage Areas Authority provides dollar-for-dollar matching project grants to non-profit organizations and governments for capital and non-capital projects located within a certified Maryland heritage area (which includes the Baltimore National Heritage Area). Grants can support heritage tourism-related projects involving historical, cultural, or natural resources. For the full list of MHAA funded projects this cycle - click here.
Shauntee Daniels, Executive Director of BNHA, says that MHAA's investment in the Baltimore Heritage Area "further amplifies the City's critical role in the legacy and history of Maryland. Our partners in the Heritage Area are doing great work and having the State support them makes us all feel even more proud to be in Baltimore."
The MHAA Grant program will open again in Winter 2022.
