Baltimore, MD - The Baltimore National Heritage Area (BNHA) is proud to announce its FY2021 Heritage Investment Grant (HIG) Awards! This grant is a source of federal funding designed to provide small, but strategic investments in cultural heritage tourism projects within the geographic boundary of the national heritage area and which align with the U.S. National Park Service's priorities.
- Poe Baltimore Inc. - The Edgar Allan Poe Homes History - $15,000
- Maryland Center for History and Culture - I'll Overcome Someday Exhibition Fabrication -$15,000
- Eubie Blake National Jazz Institute and Cultural Center - Eubie Blake Center Preservation Archive Project - $14,500
- Baltimore Heritage, Inc. - Diversifying Baltimore Heritage’s Virtual & In-Person Content With Student Research - $7,500
- The Royal Theater and Community Heritage Corporation - TRTCHC Historic Baltimore African Americans Mural and Montage Restoration Project - $2,901
- Creative Alliance Inc. - Creative Alliance's CIELO Department Strategic Plan - $12,500
- Baltimore Concert Opera - Baltimore after Freddie Gray: Building Community through Opera - $15,000
- Maryland Women's Heritage Center and Museum (MWHC) - MWHC: Expanding Operations in our new location at Marian House/ Women's Industrial Exchange - $15,000

- Friends of Patterson Park, Inc. - Planning to Support an Enhanced Visitor Experience in Patterson Park -$15,000
Shauntee Daniels, Executive Director of BNHA, says that the purpose of the HIG program is to “provide funds for non-capital projects. Eligible projects must address or complete a priority activity identified in and consistent with the goals, objectives, strategies, and actions outlined in the 2013 Baltimore National Heritage Area Comprehensive Management Plan.”
The Heritage Investment Grant program will open again in Spring 2022.
