The Baltimore National Heritage Area and Baltimore Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake, along with civic, business, and cultural leaders, recognized and celebrated the eleven recipient organizations of the 2015 Heritage Investment Grant program.
The Maryland Heritage Areas Authority (MHAA) announced seven matching grants totaling $415,000 for Baltimore non-profits and heritage tourism organizations, including four museums. The grant funds support heritage tourism projects and activities that draw visitors and expand economic development and tourism-related job creation in Baltimore.
In spring 2014, the Baltimore National Heritage Area began working with five Baltimore attractions to develop customized plans to help improve visitor experiences. The plans will help the sites better relate to visitors through improved access and exhibits. The sites all share one unique feature: they are historic and cultural resources located along the one-mile-wide corridor of the Charles Street National Scenic Byway.
